Principal's Message

Hello Madison Community,

I am proud to serve as the principal of Madison Middle School, now entering my fourth year in this role. As a proud graduate of Madison Local Schools (Class of 1994), returning to the district to serve and support our next generation is incredibly special and rewarding for me. Each year brings new opportunities to enhance our students’ experience, and this one is no exception!

First, I’d like to say how thrilled we are to welcome the fifth-grade students from North and South Elementaries as they begin their middle school journey with us. We’re excited to see them grow and thrive at MMS!

Students learn and are able to apply that knowledge when learning becomes relevant (and fun!) Over the past few years, we’ve worked hard to create an environment where the learning process is enjoyable and thus that much more effective. We’ve introduced several exciting initiatives, including:

  • An Outdoor Classroom where students can engage with nature while learning.
  • A Gaga Ball Pit, providing fun and physical activity.
  • An Outdoor Garden that our students helped build, fostering teamwork and responsibility.
  • We’re currently working on a Greenhouse that will be another hands-on learning space for our students.

One of our key focuses is our PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) program, which emphasizes our STREAK values: Safety, Teamwork, Responsibility, Effort, and Kindness. Above all, safety is our top priority. We encourage students to always “see something, say something,” ensuring that our school is a safe space for everyone. Our goal is to maintain a 4:1 ratio of positive shout-outs to behavior referrals each month, reinforcing that positive behavior is always celebrated and rewarded.

I have also partnered with local businesses to support our goals here at MMS. Thanks to their generosity, we’re able to offer a variety of prizes to our students as part of our Blue Streaks rewards program.

If you ever need assistance or have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me via email or call my office.

Thank you for your continued support – together, let’s make this year the best one yet!

Yours in Education,
